> Other possibilities include ISDN, IDSL, terrestrial wireless, and/or > satellite. Yes, but realistically when compared with Cable or DSL: ISDN - horribly expensive, only marginally decent speeds. IDSL - only slightly more affordable than ISDN, Speeds no better. Wireless - incredibly rare! The only large scale availability I know is in Phoenix and a few places in Canada. Satellite - Only just recently available, and apparently having horrendous problems. Take a look at the directpc and starband newsgroups, and be ready to wince. Compared to them, DSL is as reliable as the sun rising in the east. Cable would be easily more attractive than any of the above, even IF their network infrastructure is less than ideal. Randy S.
