The average upload speed will be 50 kbps, depending on usage during peak hours. " 1/10th the speed down and 1/3 the speed up for more money. Not a viable alternative for me. As one who uses broadband a lot I don't find the kind of speeds that the alternatives you cite to be competitive or acceptable. This and the fact that in my case my ISP's proxy slows me down (old pages and no faster than direct connection to the web...and I'm willing to acknowledge that with many/most it's not the case) are one of the few areas where I disagree with you. john, you're knowledgeable, spend time to answer many of the same questions posed over and over, are almost always a well educated voice of reason in a flame laden newsgroup and I've learned a lot from your posts and your site. Therefore I would like to close this with RESPECTFUL disagreement. It's no biggie...my ISP will continue to mess routine things up no matter what you or I do or say...although if you ever want to sneak in and configure their Cacheflow box correctly, you'd have my unqualified support! > >-- >Best regards, >John Navas <http://navasgrp.home.att.net/> > CABLE MODEM/DSL GUIDE: <http://Cable-DSL.home.att.net/> Bubba
