A little late to the party, but I'm Redwood City and have been seeing
every one of the symptoms listed in the thread (sometimes all the
lights are off, sometimes all the lights are on, modem is stone dead
in either case) several times a day over the past few days. I just
tried going to the SAS site at https://12.242.17.9/, was told my
"computer" wasn't registered (a different MAC address was shown to be
registered, though I didn't think to check to see which one
corresponded with my actual MAC address), and was offered the choice
to do so. Did so, chose the link to reset the cable modem (took
another couple of visits to the site), restarted the DHCP daemon on my
Linux box. Not sure whether any of this will actually help; if the
connection is still running when I get up tomorrow that'll be a good
sign.
