Did you know Hackers could and do hack DIALUP ISP connections?? yes it is
possible. harder but possible.

If a hacker wants to get into a system he can.. How ever it sounds like you
are more worried about crackers who are the ones that cause the damage and
not a hacker.. ALL Hackers I have met besides being buttheads now and then
have only hacked into systems to get information(something your are not
worthy of mind you)

> 2. Can a hacker bypass AtGuard or any other firewall?
A hacker and a Cracker can bypass any kind of Firewall. some are just
harder than others to bypass.

Black ICE has the highest ratings. I have heard several reports of other
firewall programs not killing the connection fast enough the first time..
So someone using a FAST OS like Linux (Sorry MAC and Windows your both to
slow) can easily bypass those other firewalls before they are even blocked.
@Gaurd is working on making thiers more secure and LockDown 2000 while
having a VERY rocky start is getting better. But Black ICE to date is the
most secure. Once I get my Linux Web Server up I will be posting Several
Web Pages on Firewall Programs, FTP Programs, etc. so that everyone can read
the reviews that I do on them and Other People's thoughts on them.

That is a good idea on the spammers however as is becoming more and more
noticable.. People gain access to a SMTP sever and put in bogus information
which sorry Sam Spade will NOT protect against and can even get the wrong
people nuked. How would you feel if someone used your routing information
and spammed someone making it look like you even though it wasn't??? You
account gets nuked and you take the fall for something you didn't do..
Lovely USA mentality if you ask me.

I will leave this for the ISP to answer. in the case of Las Vegas Cable
Modems that is Cox Communications.

Please do not confuse Hackers with Crackers. Crackers are the ones who do
the bad mojo.. cracking programs. writing virii, crashing peoples systems,
etc. Hackers believe in free speech and the freedom of information. As I
have stated before.. every HACKER I have known has actually improved the
systems they gain acceess to and only attack those systems that are
oppressive to the people IE pedophile, racist, hate sites, etc. So please
do not confuse the 2 like the media has (which so many people believe the
media tells the truth)
