Admittedly, cable averaged about 80-90K/s but it didn't cost
$140/month for such speeds.

If you want to talk about @Home speeds within their intranet, they
were crazy.  I could download MP3's from @Home's news server at
7-8Mbps.

I fail to see how GTE does any ADSL business at all in areas where
cablemodems are in direct competition with them.
