Remote mail problem with attbi

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area,  San Carlos.

I use Outlook Express to check my attbi account while at work.  This
morning, I can send once in a while, and the mail appears on the attbi
web mail site, but I cannot retreive using OE...server not responding.
I called my wife at work, who checks her attbi mail using OE from work,
and she has the same problem.

I don't know if this problem is only when trying to connect from a
non-attbi machine, or if it will be a problem when I get home on my
attbi machine, also.

Anyone having this problem?

Tier 2 tells me it will be 3 to 5 bidness days to escalate and 'fix'.

Just realized the reason I can send is because my outgoing SMTP is not
mail.attbi.com, but our work server.  The incoming POP3 to check my attbi
mail is mail.attbi.com, though.
