Retrieving mail remotely with Netscape

Want to try running Nscape 4.76. from work to retreive my attbi.com
email. I used to be able to do this with @home.com, but ever since the
changeover to attbi, I can't get Nscape configured correctly (or maybe
it can't be done). I'm forced to use OExpress with SSL for outgoing..

Anyone successfully used Nscape to retrieve email from a non-attbi
machine?

Thanks,
Bruce Karnacki

According to the ATTBI help page at

http://help.broadband.att.com/faq.jsp?content_id=1753&category_id=9&lobid=1

Netscape doesn't support SSL.

I assume that you are already using that NS4.76 to access email related to
a work account instead of attbi. If so, then you can add a new user profile
for the attbi. From Windows Explorer, double-click on:
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Netscape.exe The box that
comes up will give you the option to Manage Profiles and to create a new
profile. Create a new one for attbi.

In the new one under Edit-Preferences-Mail & Newsgroups-Mail Servers, set
the incoming mail server to mail.attbi.com etc. If you instead only have
the one profile that was used for @home, then just change the fields to the
new attbi values.

The best place for Netscape advice is the newsgroup at:
secnews.netscape.com/netscape communicator
