Looking for software for dial up...?

I know this is not the right place for this but I figured someone in here
must have wondered the same thing, or it is just a really dumb question..But
I have a computer windows NT box that's always on that serves as my main
computer and as a proxy server for the rest of the computers on my
network(on a cable modem).. I was wondering if there is any kind of software
that would let me dial into my computer from a regular phone line to get
online with my laptop from say accross town..

TIA

When you say "proxy" what do you mean? What program are you using to share?

I the NT machine is already set up as a proxy server, you should be able to
just set up RAS to answer the phone, establish a remote network connection
to it and go from there. Don't think it would even require any additional
software. Even NT workstation can handle remote networking.

pcAnywhere will do the job for you very well, with password access and data
encryption.

How do you set up PCanywhere under Win2K to allow access to the internet
connection?

If you know of a good site with info in this let me know, or you could just
leave the info here.

Thanks,
Joe

Martin

you don't want to use PCAnywhere. Try PCduo. It's much faster and install
extremely easy

Unless you have to use PCAnywhere, I'd recommend VNC
<http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/>. Excellent and FREE!
