me too, so I disable all file and print sharing. It was getting so annoying
I turned of the firewall.

My smoke detector keeps going off when I cook so I took the battery out.
Damn thing will stay silent now.

Why would you disable file and print sharing? And especially, why would you
turn off your firewall?

with the file and print sharing off the chances of someone getting in is
near impossible. The hell with the network I can live without it.

Go get zonelabs.com Zone Alarm. No nagging for personal use and yes @home
rattles the door knob now and then.

The IP sniffing you reveals:

@Home Network (NETBLK-ATHOME) ATHOME        24.0.0.0 - 24.23.255.255
@Home Network (NETBLK-RDC1-SFBA-5) RDC1-SFBA-5        24.0.94.0 -
24.0.95.255

F&P Sharing turned off is like closing the door but no dead bolt.

www.timhiggins.com has everything you need to know.

Be patient, there is a lot to digest.
best of luck.
