There may be another solution to your problem. This comes untried as something for you to test. It is possible to run 2 decnet area routers in one box.... we do this in the Netherlands on SPAN to translate from European SPAN to SurfNET. This involves the use of an address translation gateway. The relevant commands are: decnet 0 routing area1 decnet 0 node-type area decnet 1 routing area2 decnet 1 node-type area A little bit of though will show you that it is impossible for an interface to have 2 decnet addresses (due to phase iv changing the MAC address) However, you could try using 2 Ethernet interfaces on the cisco connected to the same physical segment. Please do this on a test segment!!!!! I have no idea how nodes will react to seeing 2 level 1 routers on the same segment (e.g. how will they elect a designated router) Any feedback will be greatly appreciated (including constructive flamage) Ray Hunter RHUNTER@ESOC.BITNET Cray Systems on contract to the European Space Agency #include <absolute.disclaimer>
