[= Need Help Upgrading a Cisco 4000 Router IOS/Flash =]


I am a student learning about networking and routers. I have an
old Cisco 4000 router, but it has a real old IOS (Version 9.14). I
would like to upgrade this, but the router only has 2MB of flash
and 4096K/1024K bytes of memory.

The router has a daughter board which I think is where the Flash
memory is. The board has 8 AMD AM28F020 IC's on it with sockets
for 8 more. I was going to just get 8 more of these IC's, but 
doing some reasearch into the upgrade, see that the PAL chip needs
to be changed. I am not even sure if this is all that needs to be
done, or if the ROM chips need to be changed as well?

If anyone can offer any help or suggestions on what I can
do to upgrade my router's IOS  without costing a lot, I would 
very much appreciate it.
