I'm fairly new to the issues of IP routing and Cisco routers in general, and
after searching through the newsgroups available, believe that I'm
addressing the correct groups.

I have a simple Ethernet based LAN at home comprising the following boxes:

Processor RAM Operating System IP Address Name

486 Dx2 64Mb NT server 4 192.168.1.1 SKYGOD
P166 192Mb NT Workstation 4 192.168.1.2 WHUFFO
P166 128Mb Windows 98 (Beta) 192.168.1.3 WIN98B
P120 96Mb Solaris 2.4 x86 192.168.1.4 SUNX86
Sparcstation2 64Mb Solaris 2.5 SPARC 192.168.1.5 SUNSS2
SparcstationIPC 52Mb Solaris 2.5 SPARC 192.168.1.6 SUNIPC
SparcstationIPX 16Mb Solaris 2.5 SPARC 192.168.1.7 SUNIPX
P166 64Mb NT Workstation 5 (Beta) 192.168.1.8 AARGHH
Cisco 3102 16Mb IOS 11.2 192.168.1.200 ROUTER

The Cisco router doesn't hold enough flash RAM to hold the binary for IOS
11.2 (only 2Mb flash), however the NT server runs as a TFTP server thereby
allowing the router to boot from SYSTEM.

All machines are registered in the relevant hosts files, so all machines can
ping each other by name.

The NT workstation and Windows 98 machines also have access to an external
modem and use Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 dial up networking to connect to
Demon Internet (194.xxx.xxx.xxx). What I plan to do, is make the Cisco the
default gateway for all systems, thereby allowing any machine to make an
Internet connection via a PPP dial up connection through the serial port of
the Cisco.

I am moving house in two weeks time and should have my ISDN connection in
place, so I'd like to take this opportunity to set up my machines so they
can all have an access to the Internet. (I will be using a BT Ignition as my
ISDN TA) I'd also like to be able to work on my Windows based machines at
the same time as the Solaris boxes. (i.e. Web browsing on the Windows
machine whilst news reading and mail downloading on the Solaris box)

Could someone point me in the right direction as to how I can configure the
Cisco to do the necessary dial up connection.
