The future is now.  There are already wireless internet providers and
satellite internet providers.  Cable modems are being tested in 
Baltimore County.  Comcast is only one of 4 cable companies in the
mid-atlantic that own TCG, a VERY large fiber-optic Internet backbone
provider.
