However, I see >LOTS of complaints here about USR, so I don't know... > Is there anyone here who can sort out this mess and give a recommendation >based on some UNBIASED numbers? hello Mike, I tried PP modems, Zoom, and have 2 USR modems. USR modems worked out of the box EVERY time. Zoom and PP worked but needed some ini strings changed. I had a 14.4 sportster and a 28.8 VI w/dsvd and it also worked with no problems. My Courier HST NEVER failed and I have traded up to a USR V.E. and it also worked outta the box with Win95. It's unbelivable the way people put them down here. Just check out the PP and Zoom and the other modem BBS's and see what problems they are having. Only negitive thing about USR is there BBS is swamped with mainly simple questions that admitably take weeks to get answered, if ever.
