I've decided (more or less) against USR, because they seem to be very bad (at least lately, this is my first time dealing with them) about their customer service. What happened? The first time I called, I talked to some lady SPECIFICALLY asking for info on ALL the USR lines, not just Sportster. Guess what I get in the mail a few days later? That's right! Nothing but Sportster junk (and the Courier PCMCIA card modem). I called again, left a message, got no response and no mail back. Then I left an e-mail message at "sales@usr.com", and STILL nothing. I've given up for lack of customer service (or giving a damn about their customers). I think they've just gotten too damn big for their britches. I've seen another message confirming the Network Computing (which I can't seem to be able to find) tests that show Penril outdid USR by almost 2:1. My choices are now limited to AT&T Paradyne's Comsphere series modems and Penril's, though I'm leaning more and more toward Penril (I'm eagerly awaiting their literature). USR is out of my book (for reason's I've stated above), and they've generally just pissed me off so I no longer want to deal with them. I'm gonna forward this to the list, FYI, so others see what is happening. Thanks again, Mike -- *************************************************************************** *Mike P.
