Is there such a device as an ASYNC/SYNC Converter? For
example, it would plug into a COM port on a PC, and would
also plug into a SYNC terminal adaptor:
ASYNC SYNC
V.24 V.24
| |
V V
------ ------------------- -----------
| PC |--------| ASYNC/SYNC CONV |-----| ISDN TA |----
------ ------------------- -----------
In the above configuration, must there be a data link
protocol (BI-SYNC, HDLC, etc...) running between the
converter and TA? Or, can the timing signal be used
in order to extract the data?
I suppose the other option I have is to purchase a
SYNC serial port for the PC? In this case, must a
data link protocol run between the serial port and TA?
Any good recommendations?
Thankyou,
justin
