Fast-SCSI only 2.2 MB/s under DOS ?

The first one is formatted with LINUX, the other one with DOS.

Under LINUX, both can obviously be synchronized at 10.0 MB. But under
DOS, when I start the CORE-program, the "LINUX-HD" provides 9 MB/s,
the "DOS-HD" only 2.8 MB/s. Under Windows with the new 32-bit driver
from
Adaptec, the speed seems to be OK.

Can anyone tell me, if the reduced transfer rate on DOS-formatted HDs
is normal, or how to improve it ?

Thanx in advance, Denis.
