Hello,

I know this may be a fairly frequent question, but my
search on 'archie', faqs, and manuals gave no result.

Is there any unix public domain package that can be used as an
"answering machine" with those 14.4K data/fax/voice modems like Zoltrix,
USR, Cardinal or others ?

BTW, does anyone know any pointer to the protocol used by those
modems to communicate with the application ? I'm interested in the
'analog' part, that is, retrieving data from the modem's A/D conversion
and sending digitalized audio data to the modem to be played back.

Please respond by email, I will summarize.

TIA,

--carlos
