Hi,
I am looking for a practical approach of modulation recognition of a
signal using its frequency spectrum. I need a practical approach but
any help in theoretical areas will be welcomed too.
Bests,
John

Get the sound samples of all common digi modes from
http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Cockpit/2800/digital/
and convert them into spectra using any FFT software!

John,

If you are not too particular about algorithms based only on frequency
spectrum, the following paper has a couple of algorithms using neural
networks. The same authors also have a book on the subject (See the
references). Hope this helps..

A. K. Nandi and E. E. Azzouz, "Algorithms for Automatic Modulation
Recognition of Communication Signals," IEEE Trans. on Communications,
vol 46, pp 431-436 April 1998.

Jitendra,

Thank you for your answer. I need just a practical approach, depending
on frequency or even time domain charactristics. It is not important
if it is automatic or not, but I need to discover the modulation type
of a given signal. At present I don't have access to the book but I
have the paper. Although I have not read it completely but I think it
is not so practical. Any way, thank you very much for your help.
