I switched from using vi (yuck) to emacs a few months ago and although I like emacs there are many things that I miss about vi. Here is a list - perhaps someone can tell me where to FTP some files (*.el macros ...) to fix these problems: 1) a nroff style man page OK here come my really big gripes: 2) I _really_ want the equivalent of vi's ":set nu" mode, and vi's paren matching *on demand* i.e. you put the point on a paren and press % and vi moves the point to the matching paren ":set list" mode I could live with a current point location displayed (line # and column #) in the mode line in place of vi's :set nu is there a FAQ for this group? I looked on rtfm.mit.edu for one but found nothing. --Jonathan -- ============================================ | Jonathan Cano | // _ | | jonathan@cats.ucsc.edu | \\ // (_) | | 8kyu (+- 2kyu) | \X/ |< | ============================================
