hello,

i am looking for an ms-dos emulator for a (macintosh) powerbook 520C.
the version of ms-dos emulated does not need to be recent.
i do not need/want to run windows.

i need the emulator to run an ms-dos program called 'epi info 6' on the
macintosh laptop.

i have looked in the emulation FAQ:

  comp.misc.emulators faq (part 1)
  http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/hypertext/faq/usenet/emulators-faq/top.html

  SoftPC [NextStep, MacOS]
  SoftWindows [MacOS, Unix & X]
  DOSonMac [Macintosh]

i have also looked in the miscellaneous macintosh FAQ.

softwindows seems to be the only option, but an expensive one.
($781 australian from the local applecentre).

are there any free/shareware/cheap ms-dos emulations available?
or other products/options?

From the same source (Insignia), there is a SoftPC solution, taht only
emulates MS/Dos, not windows.

I had this product ordered 2 monthes ago for professional purposes, but
it hasn't been delivered yet - maybe no more available.

Cost is more or less $100 or $200 for pro solution. Pro differentiates
from normal because it supports SVGA and more networking options.
