The latest revision to the TrueType font format specifications is available via anonymous ftp from ftp.uu.net in the /vendor/microsoft/TrueType-Info directory. The file is called "ttf_spec.hlp" and, like the previous revision, is a fully illustrated hypertext-based version of the 400 page spec. Since this is based upon the Windows help engine, if you have Windows 3.1, then you have all of the tools necessary to display this document. The file is 950KB in size. The only major changes to this spec are the fixing of some typos and several technical revisions where the illustrations didn't necessarily match exactly what was happening within the rasterizer. There are no new table or structural changes to the font format. Note that this is revision 2.00 of the Microsoft spec and does not include any information about the TrueType GX font format extensions from Apple. There is also other TrueType information in that directory -- consult the "readme.txt" file for more information.
