Please excuse my ignorance in technical questions, but what is hint replace-
ment? Are there any other technicalities to look for in a font besides that
and hinting?
And while I'm at it: Commercial grade fonts aren't always what they're cracked
up to be. Take a look at Adobe's Joanna Regular, e.g., apart from the
aesthetics, which obviously are debatable, this font has gruesome kerning. It
is of a quality I'd expect from Shareware fonts and still I would be dis-
appointed. But hey - I paid money for that one, since I believe in buying
fonts. So, what I was looking for, is a cheaper alternative with still good
quality and I am looking into DTC right now...

Anyways, thanx a lot, Berthold, for all the helpful information you regularly
dish out at us less educated people. That had to be said.
