🚀 go-pugleaf

I have downloaded quite a lot TT fonts for windows 3 from some ftp-sites.
Now I want to have a go at the TT fonts made for the MAC and other systems,
since it seems that there are PD fonts made for tha mac that have not
been "ported" to the windows format. I face several problems:


a)  MAC File Formats

	HQX files - can be unpacked with xbin
	Stuffit files - can be unpacked with unsit30
	Packit - can be unpacked with unpackit
	PACT (Compactor) files - ???? I haven't found anything here

b) even if I manage to unsit some fontfiles, they seem to be containing
	a lot of rubbish at the beginning. I tried removing everything
	before (12 bytes before cmap, or the next earlier 00 01 00 sequence),
	but windows still doesn't recognize the font.

	What I'd need is a) a description of how TT fonts are encoded
	or		 b) a general conversion program for TT fonts
	or		 c) a program that searches a file for an embedded
			     TT font and tells me the starting position.


Has anyone else had some success in converting TT fonts from other sources
for Windows3? Would you share your experiences?
