I've been using Adobe Caslon, with its Expert and Alternate sets, with
TeX, but I'm afraid I can't help with anything related specifically to
W4W or Pagemaker. (With TeX, I was able to set up virtual fonts that
made the appropriate ligature substitutions automatic, with the choice
of font determining whether I get only "f" ligatures, or "ct" and "st"
ligatures, or long-"s" ligatures. I don't know if there is any
corresponding ability in the programs you've mentioned, so I don't
know how much of a pain it would be for you to use the additional
characters.) I do like the look of the font, though, and the
ligatures do improve the appearance of text somewhat.
