Hamburg, 18 March 1994 Does anyone know the FontFoundry Utility of ADOBESystems for PCs? We are trying to define our own postscript fonts for their later import from FrameMaker4.0 on a Sun Sparc2 station. Such user-defined fonts can be defined by using CorelDraw4.0 on a PC and after this exporting them to FrameMaker. FrameMaker offers special programs for the importing procedure, if the PC-font files have the extensions .AFM (Adobe font metrics), .PFB (outline fonts) and .ABF (a special bitmap font format). CorelDraw4.0 can generate files with the extensions .AFM, .PFB and .PFM. The FontFoundry-Utility of Adobe Systems for PCs should be able to generate the .ABF-Files. However we have not been able to get this result with our FontFoundry-Programs, Version 3.16, Disks 1 (Programm Disk Installer) and Disk 2 (Font Foundry Utility). We do not have the third disk, the Font Disk. This version of Font Foundry includes the FUSER.EXE, MAKEBIT.EXE and MAKEABF.EXE programs. Our question are: Doe anyone know the FontFoundry-Utility of Adobe Systems and how to generate the .ABF-Files, if the (our only) input files are the CorelDraw files with the extensions .AFM, .PFB and .PFM? These input files should be first be installed with the help of FontFoundry. Some of the errors we have had are: - "The Typeface Package has not been completely installed" - "No valid printer entry found in PSFONTS directory" - "This is not the font disk" How should the programs MAKEBIT.EXE and MAKEABF.ABF should be used? Thanks a lot for your help !! Joaquin Lopez Cortes e-mail: lopez@tu-harburg.d400.de TU Hamburg-Harburg Germany
