Hi there,

I'm in charge of graphics design for a publication next year, and there is
this really neat-looking font that I've noticed has been really popular in
the design world lately. I have no clue of its name though.

To get an idea of what I mean, fire up Mosaic,
and access http://www.commerce.net. They use this mystery font in their
headings in their screens.

Bascially, it;s a tall, thin font, with letters made up of a combination
of rounded and 90 degree corners. It bears a very slight resemblence to
the "chicago" font on the Mac, but much taller.

If someone could tell me the vendor and name of the font, I would be
gratified. Thank you!

I haven't taken a look at that document yet, but the font you describe
sounds to me like Senator, manufactured by Emigre. It comes in a variety
of weights, and includes a "tall" rendition. I'd be surprised if that
weren't it, though it could be another Emigre face. Another place to ask
is the comp.fonts newsgroup.
