Jaggies & downloading

There are certain fonts I cannot get to print smoothly without first
manually downloading them to the LaserWriter (either to a IINT or
IIg). Can anyone tell me why this would be? With Adobe Garamond, for
instance, all I need to do is print, and the font will download
automatically; but with Adobe Sabon or with New Baskerville (not sure
which manufacturer), I must download using the LaserWriter Utility.
All of these fonts are in a folder outside the system; I use Suitcase
II to access them. The New Baskerville won't even show up right on
the screen unless it's first downloaded to the printer!

I have an old SE, 20mb hard disk, 4mb RAM, and have this problem no
matter what I'm using - Quark, Pagemaker, or MSWord.

Any answers I get are welcome. If you don't mind, could you post them
to my e-mail address as well as any of the lists I've posted this to?
I don't often read these lists (which might be the start of my
problem).
