Many graphic tablets work like a mouse, when we are looking from a position
of Delphi application. When user moves pen your app gets mouse movement
messages. For extended functions you need to implement tablet specific code.

I would contact one or more of the companies who produce tablets and
ask them. There is probably either a specific Windows function for
(the more advanced) actions, or an API of some kind..

Hi Milos,

you're write for the movement, but not for the sensitive pressure...

thanks

Hi Phil,

There's an api at pointing.com, but no example in pascal, only in Microsoft
Visual C.
I need to make an header to support the winpad.dll

I have been searching for one for ages but seems like it is unsupported.
Pointing.com are supposed to be the official soure for the wintab dll
but they are not interested. I even asked for a quotation for them to do
the work but received no reply. Looking at the toolkit (in C) it would
take years to implement it.

If anyone can produce a DLL that we could poll for pressure data, let us
have a price.

Hi Dave,
the solution is probably more easy than you think, because many tablet are
provided with WinTab.dll, the "only" thing to do is to import function from
this DLL, so the main job is to translate Wintab.h to wintab.pas, the with
this unit call all function imbeded into the library.
I don't know nothing in C, so I can't do this.
But if you find a solution let me know.

English version available tomorrow.

bye

Armindo.

I don't know C either but even when that is done, you have to understand
the entire wintab spec which involves setting up all sorts of message
procedures- there is no easy way to just get the pressure values (not
that I could see anyway). The spec is written in such a way that if you
don't know C, you haven't got a chance.

What I'm looking for is someone that can write a simple callable DLL
that returns the pressure value of the pen. I'm not even looking for it
free, I'm writing commercial software and prepared to pay. Maybe it just
can't be done !

Regards
