What graphics resolution does the opening animation > with the STARSHIP ENTERPRISE have? What computer was it done on? > And how many colors does it use? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the animation of the Enterprise in ST:TNG is done with models, and not computers. They do this by taking several passes at the same shot. The first with no lights on, the second with the warp nacells lit, the third with the deflector dish lit, and possible a fourth. What you may be interested in is Babylon 5, which had a write-up about all of their computer equipment in Cinimefantastique. They extensively use Amigas w/toasters for their space sequences.
