A while back, there was a running thread (and platform/OS war) on CG education. I apparently missed a good portion of the posts. Did someone out in net-land save this thread? I am particularily interested in the low budget solutions (i.e. trying to serve as many students as possible on PC platforms) that have been implemented. I know that approach isn't optimal, but there is still a lot that can be done (albiet more slowly). I am presently thinking along the lines of Renderman, with many students able to edit and view crude ouput on the PCs, then produce their final output on a few powerful workstations. So did anybody save that discussion? And has anyone implemented the scenerio I described above? Please respond via email to the address below as our newsfeed is intermittent. Thank you, george@alpha.ee.ufl.edu
