Due to several requests I uploaded mandzoom.zip to phoenix.oulu.fi
in /pub/incoming, its accompanied with a text file description.
if there are any suggestions of places in the USA that I can put
this thing for anonymous ftp. please let me know.

Here is a short description.

Mandzoom.zip is a FLI animation file of a zoom into
the standard Mandelbrot set. It incorporates panning,
turning, rotating and zooming, to achieve an interesting
(at least to me) zoom animation.

the Fli file decompresses to 2.7 meg,
the programs used to generate this animation were
Fractint 17.2 by the Stone Soup Group
     to generate the frames
Alchemy 14 (or something)
to convert the frames to Targa format
DTA (Daves Targa Animator)
     to make the FLI file
PKZIP by the guy who wrote it
to compress it from 2.7 meg to 2 meg "OOOOOOHHHH what an improvement"
