One thing I havn't seen anybody mention about 3D Studio is its interface which allows stuff like procedural shaders and modelers to be easily incorporated into it. There is a fairly large supply of third party add-ons which use this interface. For example, I have seen add-ons for 3D studio that will do things like particle systems (exploding objects with gravity, tornadoes, fireworks, etc), additional procedural material shaders, melting objects, enhanced morphing capabilites, snow and rain simulations, etc. Most of these add-ons are fairly inexpensive (at least the ones that I have seen) and do add a lot to the program's capabilities. I have no idea what capabilities Lightwave has in this area, this was just something that I really liked about 3D Studio. David Humphreys
