My office's head graphics guy uses Draw 9 (Windows). I need a PDF of one of his files, but exports from his PC come out over 200kB per page ... too big for web use in my opinion. I wanted to try outputting to PDFWriter on my PowerBook, so I asked him to Save As... Draw 8 format. He sent me the file and Draw 8 LE refuses to open it. Neither could Fireworks 3, Graphic Converter 4, or various older apps. Then I checked it with a hex editor. The few Draw 8 files that I've created all start with the following sequence: RIFF [4 mystery bytes] CDR8 vrsn Whereas the file he sent me starts like this: RIFF [4 mystery bytes] CDRA vrsn I'm guessing that CDRA means this is NOT a Draw 8 file, but I'd appreciate confirmation. Also, Draw 9 is able to Save As... Draw 8 format in a Mac compatible way, right? -F.

Sorry, no help from me, but CD10 also writes "RIFFxxxxCDR8..." when exporting to v8 ... Why don't you try to change the CDRA to CDR8 in hex editor? Perhaps it works. heizfrosch -- "Walfische bestehen zu achtzig Prozent aus Lippenstift."
