The majority of Amiga files uploaded just about everywhere the past few years have been .LHA files packed with LHA or full disk archived .DMS files packed with DMS (DiskMasher). There is no PC counterpart to DMS. Most if not all of them could be found on any "Aminet" FTP site in /pub/aminet/ in one of the subdirs.. something like /disk/pack or similar. Anyway they're easy to find. A couple of USA based Aminet sites are ftp.netnet.net and ftp.wustl.edu. Since there's an LHA for both DOS/Windoze and Amiga you could use that without too much effort. If you pack the files and they still won't fit on a single floppy then you could use various file splitters/joiners to spread them across multiple floppies on one machine and rejoin them on the other. As far as using a modem on an Amiga, nothing to it. Any standard external hayes compatible modem will work. But you'd need Amiga terminal software (many to choose from both pd/shareware and commercial) to make it do anything useful :) There are also simple networking solutions to hook an Amiga to a Wintel box without modems, using null modem type cables and running software on both sides to do transfers. One of these is called "Twin Express".
