Probably nothing wrong with it apropos the adverts NGs, however it
contravenes the charter of uk.r.p.m and as such is technically Usenet abuse

It was crossposted to a group that doesn't encourage For Sale ads.
That's justification enough. You can order it yourself to learn if it's
stolen software.

yeah - another person said pretty much the same. i hadnt realised it had
been cross-posted to a non ad group. i thought it strange that an ad wasnt
allowed LOL

Usenet was established for persons to share what they know and learn. It
was not established to support free-loading would-be pirates and
entrepeneurs. There are special groups for that crap. Now you learned
something. Mission accomplished.

Where the fuck do you get off calling the bloke a would-be pirate?
He's selling a piece of software that retails for 56.74 (Ebuyer) for
30 - hardly the actions of a pirate. Hell, I've got a copy here that
came free with my scanner.

He cross-posts a For Sale ad to half-a-dozen newsgroups, a couple of
which don't allow ads, and you forward an abuse complaint? Try a bit
of reason instead, John - he hardly appears to be the criminal that
you seem to think he is, and maybe just needs an education about his
isp's terms on crossposting and your group's charter rather than
getting his connection cut off.

John decided to turn NetCOP and report the OP. If he'd taken the time to
read his own ISPs AUP he'd have realised he's not as pure white as he makes
out.
If he wants to be so unreasonable, then he'll have to expect backlash.

That is a typical post from JS. He has a thing about pirates and
seems to think anyone who posts an ad here is one. He is one of the
biggest pains in the butt in the group. Better to just kill file him
