import 3D scalar data into explorer

Is there an explorer module out there that will let me import a
3D scalar data set into my explorer map?

If not maybe you can help me write my own. I'm using DataScribe
to create a module that will read in my data set (actually MRI
images 256x256x124, 1 byte deep).

The problem is in my out Template. It is of type "explorer" with a
3D Uniform lattice. When I try to put the dimension of the data set
into dims1, I can't because the dims1 vector is only one dimensional.

What am I missing?
