importing image stacks (from NIH Image)

I have several stacks of images from the
Macintosh program NIH-Image that I would
like to use explorer to display.
The format is simple:

header->dimx, dimy, # images in stack
	images

I used datascribe to read these but it only
lets me look at hte top image. I read it in as a vector
and output it as a 3D unif. lattice.

I would like to be able to apply the image routines in explorer
as well as displaying these pictures as volume renderings.
How is this done? The manual mentions FIT format rgb images,
but references the Imagevision manual to see the format.
Is this what I should be using? Is this not just converted
to a standard Explorer data type ?

Thanks,

peter lee.
