If its something you're working on, maybe you'd also like to try to include
in this a way of describing a time sequence to follow, as well as a static
view. For example, move (in say spherical polar coords) through theta=0
to 2pi in 20 even steps, keeping lambda and mu constant, looking always at
a point (0,0,0), and zooming in by 1.1x each time step. OK thats rather
complex, but you get the general idea. This would let you view different
data sets in the same way each time. Very useful for creating an animation
while sweeping around an object. But describing a static view is a very
useful start. If we are doing a lot of this sort of thing, do you know if
it would be more worthwhile to program our own routines using the Inventor
toolkit?

I hadn't seen that it creates its own filenames. Thanks. Although this
would write it as a lattice rather than a .rgb file, so I'd have to convert
it again later. By the way, could WriteImg have the option of writing RLE
.rgb files - seeing as the programming interface is transparent, this should
be easy enough.

Thanks for the help.
