i have just figured out how to make the various
explorer windows come up at a specified place using
the resources in my .Xdefaults file. does anyone
know the resource to set to make the full name of
the modules in the librarian show up? presently
the modules and maps with long names get cut off.
thanks in advance.

Explorer \is/ written to have things come up right, but we put
a lot of geometry and font information in a subdirectory of the
/usr/lib/X11/app-defaults file, based on screen size. If you
don't follow the default SGI login procedure, you must type

	setenv XUSERFILESEARCHPATH `appdefpath`

This is described in the release notes, section 2.3.1. If you don't
have this defined correctly, you get gray windows that you must position
manually, and the font is too big. If it is correct, the windows have
blue-green backgrounds and reasonably fonts, and pop up in predetermined
places.
