I've had one for a month now and am very happy with it. The unit splits from
it's paper guides allowing it to be used as a conventional handscanner for
magazines, books and large drawings. With the added advantage that it drives
itself across the material being scanned at a constant speed using powered
rollers and this does seem to improve the scan quality compared with
conventional hand scanners.

Correct, so quite why you posted this in a SCSI newsgroup I don't know!!
Anyway I prefer a parallel pot connection for this type of equipment. High
speed data transfer isn't important and you can be certain that it will connect
to any machine you come across.
