Another program that gets little recognition, but is a very powerful
modeler, with an excellent renderer is Imagine by Impulse.
It started as an Amiga program (like Lightwave) and was ported over
to DOS a while back. There Windows 95/NT version is due out soon. Preorders
are very cheap (around $400) but the MSRP will be $1695, street price is
expected to be under $1000.00.
Besides being a powerful modeler, it is a procedural texture dream.
Comes with over 100 procedural textures, and has full animation capabilities.
Kinimatics, Inversec Kinimatics, metaballs, splines, organic and
poligon modeling, and a host of characters.
