We're running Notes 3.3 and using the Notes/VMS Mail gateway (a Lotus product) to provide electronic mail connectivity between Notes and our VAX/VMS systems. We've noticed that, if a VAX user sends a message to a Notes group but fails to add the Notes domain, the message is accepted by the gateway but is never delivered. We have only one Notes domain, and omitting it works fine for messages addressed to people. Messages to groups which include the domain are also delivered successfully. On the Notes side, we get every indication of a successful delivery in the logs, but nothing is ever actually delivered. Nor do we find anything in the places you'd expect see a dead letter. Lotus technical support seems to be unfamiliar with the VMS Mail gateway and hasn't been able to provide much help. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any known solutions? PS This is a repost. First attempt didn't seem to go anywhere. My apologies if you're seeing this for the second time. Steve Scotten SScotten@email.bony.com
