Participation ca be organized to merely rationalize what the professionals
want to deliver. "Wher would you like hospital?" is a hospital designer's
approach to participatory deelopment in the third world, but the people
most
likely do not want a hospital in the first place. Real participation is a
deep inquiry among equals. Software can enhance that (e;ectrponic
conferencing for example) . The technocratic megamachine outcome is the
most
likely but rehumanization ( I like that) is possible if the designers help.
