Majeed Goldrick said the objective was to use "some Windows
applications." I suppose the Windows applications in question have
capabilities that are not available in non-Windows versions.

Therefore what is needed is either:
   (1) non-Windows applications that are just as good, or
   (2) something faster than Windows that runs Windows apps.

Alternative 1 requires that we know what Windows apps are to be used
and why they're needed.

I don't think alternative 2 exists, but I could be wrong. GEOS is
faster, but it only runs GEOS apps, and that's not the same thing.

By the way, my own interest in this is based on the fact that I'm
using an XT clone, so I can't run Windows 3.x at all, even slowly. I
can run Windows 1.0 or 2.0, but that's useless (I think). It would
be nice to be able to run Windows 3.x apps on my system.

Right on. Light is good, heat is bad.
