Greetings, I have been given a working IDE controler / Multi I/O card. I have both a hard drive and an NEC 6x CDROM drive. They are both on the same cable, and both work with my current controler. I wish to install another IDE drive, and this new controler supports four. But when i install it (it is a VESA Local Bus card), the CD-ROM only reads ascii garbage. The Quantum IDE HDD i have does work on it though. I think it may be a jumper setting on my new controller. It has a speed setting. JP3 and JP4 have ID0 and ID1 printed on them. and vertically they have speed options of Speed 0 Speed 1,50 Speed 2,33 and Speed 3 the diagram is like this. S S p p e e S e e S p d d p e e e 1 2 e d , , d 5 3 0 0 3 3 JP3 ID0 - 0 0 - - 0 0 - JP4 ID1 - 0 0 - 0 - - 0 Can anyone help by letting me know what these speeds are? Also the card has other jumpers. Would anyone know what the following meant:- PMOD1 PMOD2 EXTERNAL FDC E/D DRQ1/DRQ3 DACK1/DACK3 Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx in advance..... Joel drake@speednet.com.au

It's not a real soulutions but maybe de Web page of Quantum could help
jou to vind there helpdesk (E-mail) if nobody else has the solution:
http://www.quantum.com/quantum.html
At first install your Harddisks at ID0, you prabably already have done
that, and the CD player at IDE1. Than you have the HDD and the
CDROM-player seperated.
If that doesn't work. Set the jumpers to the slowest speed possible.
That should work. Than adjust them to a higher setting until the border
is reached.
