Hi, I have 3 VLB cards, but I can't put them together. 1) ATI Winturbo VLB 2) Adeptec 2842A VLB SCSI controllor 3) Promise 4030VL-2 IDE cache controllor After I turn on the computer, it passes the memory check. The the SCSI menu pop up. I can scan what I have through the menu (Conner 1GB and Toshiba cd-rom drive). After that the promise menu pop up checking the cache. I can correctly check out that I have a Maxtor 546 HD. I set the IRQ and BIO address different in both controllor cards. Problems than appear. After all those, a message "NO ROM BASIC SYSTEM HALTED". I then plug a bootable floppy in A: and reboot the machine. But the machine reports "non-system disk, please push button to continue" something like that. I have the following question: 1) does anyone have the similar experience? 2) Is it possible to put 3 VESA LB cards into 3 VLB slots? 3) Do anyone think this is the motherboard problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much. Felix ychan@csulb.edu

Did you run linux off of that b4? Perhaps that's the problem.
LILO can cause such an error.
