What is the IYO the best c or c++ programming tool for ms-windows? I am faced with the task to do some C-programming for the first time since 5 years ago. At that time i used Borland-C and I liked it very much. Now I need to develop some C-code which needs to be very fast. I wants to build a real time control system. I want to do the program developement on a IBM compatible PC, but have the possibility to port the code to other platforms if neccessary later. At the moment I see no need for any GUI. My questions to you is: 1. Is there any difference in speed between C and C++? 2. I know C is standardized (ANSI C), but how about C++? 3. Which C programming tool do you reccomend for Windows 95? Is Borland C still a good choice? 4. If I choose to use IBM-PC, should I run the program in Dos or Windows 95 mode when speed is the major concern? (The size of the program is no problem) To be able to run the program in Windows mode would be most convenient, but I expect the program to be slower than in Dos mode. Is this true? Kristian
