             Wayne Krakau Will Speak To DPMA Chapter
            on Trends and Opportunities In Networking

     There's a revolution under way in computer  organizations
across the country.  In increasing numbers, data processing
departments are "downsizing" or "rightsizing," moving from
mainframe computers to networks of workstations, PCs, and mid-
range systems.  Is this a fad or the irresistible wave of the
future?

     Wayne Krakau, a partner in Krakau Business Computer Systems,
Des Plaines, Illinois, will talk on Trends and Opportunities in
Networking to the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Data
Processing Management Association (DPMA), at their monthly
meeting on Thursday, December 10, 1992, at the Tollgate Inn, at
I-88 and Route 31 North, Aurora, Illinois, at 7:45 PM.

     Downsizing (or rightsizing) has become the DP buzzword for
the 90's; meaning LANs, WANs, workstations, servers, bridges,
routers, distributed processing, and client-server networks.
Some computer pros see opportunity, while others see danger; is
this a field of dreams or a minefield of nightmares?  Krakau will
focus on what it takes, and what you need to know,  to make this
compelling technology work and deliver the promised cost savings
and productivity improvements, and at the same time avoid the
pitfalls and potholes.  Krakau has been guiding companies through
this transition -- or new installation -- process since this new
wave started eight years ago.
