Hi:

I need help. I recently graduated from College w/ a BBA in Finance. I
have a very respectable GPA in the past 2 years, and an abhorrable one
in the years b4 those :). I have a 630 on the GMAT and a 2090 on the
GRE (680V, 720Q, 690A). I wanted to get a MBA but raelize now that it
would be a waste of time, since i want a job soon. I do intend to get a
grad degree since my BBA from State U is pretty worthless. I also know
that I want a tech computer related degree for the following reasons:

1. I like computers and feel i can be good in a related field.
2. The demand for jobs in the whole superfield is very promising for
the job seeker.

My question is:

SHould I get a MS in Comp Science or a les technical field, since a lot
of the stuff that is taught practical and often an onramp to getting
into the PhD program in CS. I don't mind math and have taken 4 calculus
courses, 2 Physics w/ Calculus but not discrete math. Iralize I face at
least 3 to 4 prereqs. What prereqs would be necessary?

I have noticed that many schools offer CIS, which seems to be
essentially the same thing as CS. Some schools offer MIS, which is more
business related, and I would probably be more comfortable in that
environment. But what is the demand for MIS MS degree holders? What
about salary and advancement ? Could someone please tell me whether
any schools offer degrees in MIS or IS or some other degree (CIS, MCS,
MS in CS) that would be of great value to somone w/ my background, i.e
be technical and softer than theoretical CS curriculums? If u could
please also detail the industry that demand such degrees and the career
paths in question.

The financial issue is one close to my heart (and stomach :). I will be
able to pay the first sem's tuition in the MS, but I would like aid
after that. Are some schools easier to get aid in than others? I am
really strapped, i mean I am a pauper so this is a big consideration. I
would in the future consider a PhD in Finance, the field I love :). But
for now, i really need this degree in MIS or somehting. please help and
tell me which schools offer it.

Thanks :email responses r welcome
